Matured for 18 months in seasoned French oak barrels. Dark red in colour with black tinged edges and a bright red purple hue. Fragrant ripe dark cherry, dark raspberry and red liquorice aromas intermix with earth and spicy fresh herb notes. Delicious spicy dark raspberry, ripe cherry and red liquorice flavours meld into earth and infusions of fresh herbs. Vibrant finish with polished tannins and a lively red to dark fruited aftertaste.

A vibrant, medium bodied palate of juicy plums, red cherries and redcurrants up front followed by an intriguing throng of savoury complexity including notes of sarsaparilla, balsamic and spice. The crunchy acid line compliments the palate and drives right to a tang on the finish where it effortlessly meshes with the supple, dry tannins


Hand-picked, the fruit was destemmed but not crushed, rather kept whole to promote the fruit. The must was chilled to allow a three-day cold soak, then allowed to warm naturally, then undergo ferment naturally. Once fermented to dry it was not pressed but transferred to full tank storage whereby it sat on skins and underwent an extended maceration for 10 months. The wine was pressed to 2-3yr old French oak for 12 months maturation, followed by a light filtration prior to packaging.
