Pinga Tempranillo et al. (12 per case)

Made from Tempranillo with a small addition of Shiraz (13%). Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red black tinged hue. Aromas of black cherries and liquorice mix with hints of black olive, scorched earth and faint hints of spicy leather. Medium bodied, juicy like dark to black cherry flavours meld into dark plum and liquorice over a spicy vanillin cedar, earth and subtle pepper back drop. Well integrated fine grained tannins have an underlying sturdiness. Savoury medium to long finish.

TASTING NOTES

The name, Pinga is symbolic to Dominic and Krystina for its Portuguese connotation: Pinga means drop in Portuguese, as in ‘boa pinga’ – a good drop. The ‘et al’ in this wine’s name implies that it is not a straight Tempranillo but is in fact a blend - in this case with 15% of Heathcote shiraz. The combination allows the rich dark berry fruits and chocolate overtones of shiraz to compliment the ripe cherry and plum flavours of the tempranillo. The fresh, medium bodied palate finishes long and soft. Enjoy now & until 2021.
