Mt Lofty Ranges "Old Pump Shed" Pinot Noir (12 per case)

Planted in '94 & '95 our Pinot Noir block is one of the few north-facing blocks in Lenswood. With a beautiful, deep crimson colour, this Pinot is easy-drinking but still maintains a perfectly balanced rich earthiness, spice, and smooth subtle tannin. Complexity is enhanced through use of 20% new French oak, combining nicely with ripe raspberry and cherry flavours.

TASTING NOTES

Deep dark red colour with black shaded edges and a dark red hue. Fragrant violet, dark cherry and ripe strawberry scents evolve from the glass followed by some anise, lightly toasted cedar and spicy dried herb notes. Mid weighted the palate is generously endowed with ripe dark cherry and strawberry fruits which are pitted against some anise, toasty cedar, forest floor and spice nuances. Excellent drive and concentration with velvet like tannins and a long richly flavoured conclusion.
