Estate Reserve Range
Definite floral notes on the palate, with honey and spice notes. The citrus evolves from orange to lemon with the lemon giving the palate a defined line and strong finish. The wine is textural and complex with a crisp finish, making it an excellent food wine. It will match beautifully with a diverse range of food. Think grilled seafood through to Chorizo. Serve well chilled.
Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2017
Intense passionfruit with a grassy lift and seductive sweet spices. The passionfruit and grassy notes combine with citrus and sweet guavas. There is a complexity to this wine and it will continue to evolve with time in the glass. The palate has a wonderful texture, with flavour intensity and a balanced acid line that gives the wine a lingering finish. Serve chilled, and enjoy whilst young and fresh.
Opening with white peaches and cashews, it opens up to grapefruit and caramelised lemon & limes. This is an austere wine, full of stone fruits, cashews, citrus and honey flavours. There are vanilla and toasty notes from the French oak. The oak is beautifully integrated and adds a lovely texture to the palate. The cleansing acidity gives this wine structure and a wonderful length on the finish. Cellaring in proper conditions will give more complexity for those who like a bigger richer style.
Sweet berries, particularly mulberries and blackberries, mingle with star anise, nutmeg and a hint of white pepper. Just like the nose … sweet berries up front balanced with savoury spices. Velvety soft and supple, both the fruit and oak tannins give this wine a beautiful and complex structure. The acid balance builds to the back palate to give a concentrated yet lingering finish. A wine that will age gracefully for at least another 10 years from vintage date, more if stored in ideal conditions.
Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
Perfumed and floral notes open to concentrated blackberries and savoury spices. This is classic Margaret River Cabernet. Blackberries, cassis, blueberries and mocha notes jump out. Full of sweet seductive fruits, there is also an underlying savoury edge to the blend giving notes of cedar and nutmeg. The tannins are silky but powerful and combine with the acid to give this wine wonderful structure and length. This wine is complex, it will definitely reward the patient consumer over the next ten + years with proper cellaring, if you can wait.
Prendiville Reserve Range
Initial restraint opens to a complex blend of grapefruit, peaches, vanilla, roasted cashews with underlying citrus notes. Margaret River Chardonnay at it’s best. This wine is overflowing with rich Chardonnay fruit, seamlessly balanced with the finest French oak. The palate is intense, yet shows restraint, and the crisp acidity gives this wine an exquisite structure leading to a long cleansing finish. It is early days for this wine, it will keep evolving in the bottle for the next 10 years – more if cellared in optimum conditions.
Perfumed with lifted berry fruits – especially blueberries and underlying spiciness. Notes of Szechuan pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg. Elegance and generous on the palate. It’s full of blueberries, black currants and black cherries with notes of star anise and mocha. Structurally, the fine grain tannins and acid work together, leading to a long supple finish. This wine holds more in reserve and will only improve with age, but is lovely to drink now. If you can, give the wine some time in the glass and watch as it opens up. Cellaring potential of ten to fifteen years plus from the vintage date.
Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
A powerful and complex nose, full of dark berries and spicy, mocha notes. This wine is intense and complex, it will keep evolving in the glass. Up front there’s blackberries and cassis. It’s perfumed with a floral lift and has a definite savoury edge. The French oak adds another layer with cedar and mocha notes. The tannins are powerful, yet also chalky and soft. Underneath there is a refreshing acid balance, which combines with the tannins to give a wonderfully long and lingering finish with a beautiful line through the palate. With 70% new French oak, this wine is still so young and whilst remarkable now, with careful cellar maturation for 15 years or more, this limited release. Prendiville Cabernet Sauvignon will certainly reward the patient. (A harmless deposit may form in the bottle during cellar maturation and decanting is recommended prior to serving).
